Owner and designer Danika Johnson spent much of her childhood in the outdoors, creating in the wilds and gardens of her northern Vermont home. She was infused with the grace and beauty of plants from her mother’s avid gardening and developed an enduring appreciation for the movement, textures, and colors of the natural landscape. After studying biology at Middlebury College, Danika returned to the gardens of her youth and began her floral design business, Blomma Flicka. She continues to draw from the shapes and botanics of her surroundings to create arrangements that are evocative of both the season and the natural world.  With her sister, Danika spends every December in NYC selling wreaths created of materials grown and collected in northern Vermont.  Blomma Flicka’s work can be seen in issues of Vermont Vows, The Knot, and LaBella Bride magazines, as well as on the blogs Style Me Pretty and Vermont Wedding Style. ‘Blomma’ is the Swedish word for flower and ‘Flicka’, a nickname in Danika’s family, is a Swedish word for ‘girl’.
